This was painted for my sister to decorate her home. This is one of couple paintings that were purely created for decoration. Decoration was the reason that painting became popular in the first place. Its purpose is to brighten your living space. If I painted for money, this is the type of art I would produce. Having said that, I could not resist twisting the illusion to make it more interesting. I can’t simply paint a still life. If you paint a mediocre canvas, at least make it interesting. I can paint like a cubist. I did one painting replicating the technique. It works well with still life, but I wanted something different for my sister. In this painting instead of painting the bottles from many different angels to achieve the cubistic look I fractured the subject. I sliced through time and space while breaking the sun apart.
