In Arizona we have perennial losers for college and professional sports teams. We did win one World Series, but our victories are few and far between. At the end of each season, we lick our wounds, and at every beginning of the season we are filled with hope. This painting is of those moments. Fans need to remember there will always be one more sunrise. When looking at this painting you should be listening to “We art Champions” by Queen.

The background is a combination of geometric chaotic lines and an abstract sunrise with heavy layered paint. Again, this was experimental work. Instead of bleachers filled with fans I used straight lines. One horizontal line represents the top of the stadium, and the diagonal lines represent the sun’s rays in juxtaposition to the lines representing the fans. A single pennant obscures the view of an interested fan much like what happens in real life. The sun is kicked to the left of the painting because our teams never seem to get it right.
