I am a person of great belief. I had an extraordinary experience of faith when I was a young man, and I love the recounting of the deeds, life, and death of my Messiah. There are countless paintings of the crucifixion of Christ. Some of the greatest artists of all time have tried and failed to paint this moment that changed our world. This is my poor attempt to tell the story. No painter could do this subject justice.

There are no faces in the painting, just the hands are used to tell the story. The hands are not of one period of time but stretch over the course of days between his arrest and death. This is arguably the greatest event in history. It was so great we marked time before and after the event. It was hands that beat him and hands that nailed him to a cross. It was hands that took him down from that shameful tree. This was not an intellectual theological discussion. It was a physical manifestation of the evil man is capable of depositing on another human being.  The question for the viewer is what do you see? What does each hand represent? What does Christ mean to you?
